Was talking with a few other members here in meatspace... we had a thought....
(just one really, took all three of us)

The "unread post" button is wonderfull, but all we do is cliuck it then open all the unread posts in new tabs anyways..
How about adding an "Open all unread posts (except NSFW) in new tabs" button?

Click once, all unread threads open in new tabs....
